Clinical Anaplastology & Medical Illustration

orbital and ocular prosthesisClinical anaplastology is an allied health profession dedicated to the art and science of restoring a malformed or absent part of the human body through artificial means. Anaplastologists specialize in ocular (globe of the eye), facial, and/or somatic prosthetics. Medical illustration is a profession devoted to visual depiction and communication of medical information. It has been said that, “medical illustrators draw what cannot be seen.” When medical illustrators specialize in clinical anaplastology we envision absent anatomy and create a prosthesis that completes the whole with convincing naturalism.
